Summer is almost here and that means that Camp is just around the corner. As you think about your plans for the summer and what would be best suited for your child, I would like to share with you some of the extraordinary benefits of camp.
Camp is a uniquely enriching experience for kids, it allows them a safe opportunity to:
~build self-esteem and self-confidence and explore new avenues for success
~experience a new environment and learn to co-exist in community with others
~spend lots of time in nature breathing in fresh air, swimming, running and playing
~make new friends and build strong relationships that can last a lifetime
~discover new activities and talents that they might not experience at home in a safe, warm environment that meets their needs
~learn to take responsibility for themselves, becoming more independent and self-reliant
~play, have fun, be silly
~be surrounded by a supportive staff who are also great role-models and big brothers or sisters for your kids
~embrace diversity as they interact with people from all different kinds of backgrounds, cultures, communities and countries
~take a break from the competitive nature of school, grades, sports teams, popularity contests and cliques
~learn leadership skills, conflict resolution and how to contribute to the world as positive members of society
~learn to swim, sail, kayak, water-ski; take up archery; go horse back riding, be in a play or musical, take care of animals; create art from nature, sing songs around the campfire - and the list goes on and on.
There are so many activities for kids to choose from to both challenge and excite them.

My name is Elizabeth Stahl, as a Director of a small all girls summer camp in Vermont, I believe in the great self-esteem building benefits of sending your daughter or son to camp, especially a single sex camp. Now more than ever our children need a break from all the stress and competition they face year round at school, at our camp our goal is to be a place - Where Girls Shine.
It is nice to know that your son or daughter can spend the summer feeling free to be themselves, not looking over their shoulder to see who is judging them. At a single sex camp there is an even greater opportunity for kids to create strong, healthy relationships with their peers and to become more supportive of each other rather than competitive with one another. Single sex camps help to boost self-confidence, build self-esteem and create an environment where your son or daughter feels safe to explore new activities without having to be perfect. At our camp, girls can let down their hair and their hair dryers, and just be girls without having to impress anyone. As a small, family owned, single-sex camp we provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment for each camper to be seen, heard and valued for exactly who they are without fear of judgement or ridicule.
Feel free to check out our camp by going to our web site http://farwell.com/index.html and see all the wonderful activities we have for your daughter at Camp Farwell. http://farwell.com/Activities.html
If you are looking for a boys camp, we are happy to recommend some good camps for your sons too.
Most camps offer some kind of financial support to families in need, so don't be shy, call a camp and see if they have a spot for your kids today.
To a wonderful and fun-filled summer!
Warmly,
Elizabeth Stahl
